After Season Care Advice
At Australian Inflatable Decorations, we want your festive friends to last for many joyful seasons. Taking the time to properly care for your inflatables at the end of the season will help them stay looking fresh, vibrant, and ready for next year’s celebrations. Follow these simple steps for post-season care.

1. Deflate Carefully
When it’s time to pack away your inflatable, avoid simply pulling the plug and letting it collapse. Gently guide the air out by unzipping any air-release zippers and pressing down lightly. This reduces stress on seams and helps prevent unnecessary wrinkles or damage.

2. Clean Before You Store
Before folding and packing your inflatable, it’s important to clean it properly. Use a soft cloth with mild soapy water to gently wipe down the surface, removing any dirt, grass, or stains. Avoid harsh chemicals or scrubbing too hard, as this can damage the material. Allow the inflatable to air dry completely to prevent mould or mildew during storage.

3. Fold With Care
Once your inflatable is dry, fold it neatly — following its original creases if possible. Avoid tight, sharp folds that could weaken the material over time. Rolling loosely or folding along large sections helps keep the fabric in good condition.

4. Store in a Cool, Dry Location
Inflatables need to be stored in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight and humidity. Avoid sheds or garages that can get extremely hot or damp during the off-season. A temperature-stable cupboard or wardrobe inside your home is ideal.

5. Use Cardboard Boxes, Not Plastic Tubs
Cardboard boxes are the best choice for long-term storage. Unlike plastic containers, cardboard allows the inflatable to breathe and reduces the risk of moisture becoming trapped. If you don’t have the original box, use a sturdy, clean cardboard box large enough to hold the inflatable loosely.

6. Add Moisture-Absorbing Bags
Pop a few moisture-absorbing bags (like silica gel sachets) inside the box with your inflatable. These little lifesavers help absorb any residual moisture and prevent mildew, mould, or unpleasant odours from developing over time.

7. Label Your Box
Before tucking it away, label the box with a clear description — including the character or theme — to make it easy to find next season. A quick label saves you sorting through piles of decorations later!
